hi mamas & papas โ
week 3 and wow, we hit our groove. no more "where does this go?" โ kids know the cozy corners, the book nook, the snack table rhythm.
big feelings showed up this week (in the best way) โ holding hands on bean bags, waiting for the ice cream scoop, dancing like no one's watching when Zora's sister played violin again. messy, giggly, very human.
"We grow slowly, like ivy โ one little tendril, one friendship bracelet, one shared carrot at a time."
Storytime snuggles are getting cozier ๐
our reading corner turned into a full cuddle puddle this week. teacher on the floor, 3 little bodies, books + stuffed bunny audience. pointing, gasping, finishing sentences for us. same book 5x? still thrilling. this is how reading becomes a love language, not a lesson.
Hand-holding is a whole love language ๐ค
caught in the wild: two sleepy friends on bunny bean bags, holding hands without being asked. no words, just "i got you." bean bags, soft toys, quiet morning vibes โ sometimes the biggest social skills look like doing nothing together, together.
Tiny hands, big brain work ๐ฅ๐ค
top-down view of pure focus. carrot sorting in strawberry pots, alphabet puzzle pressing, wooden toaster popping. looks like playing, is actually sorting, counting, color matching, and negotiating "my turn with the carrots?" with a friend. Montessori who? we just call it fun.
Ice cream cart is OPEN (and very busy) ๐ฆ
the ice cream cart had a line all week. scooping, button pressing, "what flavor?" "chocolate dinosaur please!" Top-down chaos of tiny hands making business decisions. math? yes. language? yes. customer service skills? absolutely 5 stars.
Farmers market at our little table ๐ ๐
we opened a farmers market. velcro veggies, wooden knives, very serious chopping. banana, eggplant, tomato โ name it, cut it, serve it to your friend. "you want soup?" The way they offer food to each other? melts us every time.
Violin + wiggle dance party ๐ป๐
Zora's sister came back with her violin and our dance floor opened. two tiny dancers doing their own choreography โ wobbly knees, bare feet, 100% commitment. teacher on the side trying not to cry. live music + freedom to move = core memory unlocked.
Castles, dinosaurs, and very tall plans ๐ฐ๐ฆ
magnetic tiles + dinosaurs = unstoppable combo. this week it was castles with pink stairs, towers with dino garages, and a very proud architect holding a blue square like a trophy. build, crash, rebuild taller. that's the whole motto.
All aboard the trading center express ๐
we discovered chairs can be a train. 4 friends, one line, 100% focus on not bumping the shelves. the little conductor in front with the most serious face. following, leading, waiting, giggling when the train gets wobbly. teamwork looks this cute at age 2.
Coloring party at the round table ๐๏ธ
round table, animal masks, box of chunky crayons โ instant quiet focus (well, mostly quiet). choosing colors, gripping hard, staying inside the lines-ish. "mine is penguin!" "mine is bear!" 5 kids, 5 different worlds on paper. art time = calm + proud.
